The weather today was soft and warm, with a gentle misty rain that continued all morning but appeared to be stopping by the afternoon.

The beach smelt fresh and salty and was covered with large shells that had been washed up by the storm over the weekend. I’d almost finished painting when I noticed tiny drops of water appearing on the surface of my canvas. It had started to rain again, but so gently that I couldn’t feel the water on my skin - I could only see it on my painting and out at sea.
