It’s always tricky deciding where to position myself when the tide’s coming in - as it was today. I want to get as close to the sea as possible but I can’t move once I’ve started to paint. So I need to estimate where the tide’s going to be by the time I’ve finished and stand a bit further back.
I had an extra incentive to work quickly today, as it looked as though rain might be on its way again. But I managed to finish before either the waves or the rain hit me. And I really enjoyed painting the choppy water of the incoming tide.
